Updating and Upgrading Your Drupal Site

Thursday, July 23, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Computing Commons 120, Tempe campus

This month's workshop-style DUG will focus completely on updating and
upgrading your Drupal installation. We'll focus on two types of updates: minor
(security / maintenance releases, i.e. 5.10 -> 5.11) and major (significant
version releases, i.e. 5.x -> 6.x).

Keeping your site up to date with security and maintenance releases is
critical for site stability and ensures you don't leave your site vulnerable
or buggy. Performing major version upgrades allows you to take advantage of
the latest advances in Drupal core and community development.

Come prepared with a development version of your site (running either on your
laptop or on a development / demo domain) and one of our many volunteers will
be on-hand to help you through any issues you might come across. If you don't
have a development site, contact webconsulting@asu.edu and they'll get you
running with a sample installation on which you can practice.

WHAT'S THE ASU DUG?

The ASU Drupal Users Group meets the fourth Thursday of the month in CPCOM 120 and is a great way to meet other ASU Drupaliers, get help, and find training and resources. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to seasoned Drupaliers. You do not have to be affiliated with ASU to attend this free event. If you have any questions or comments about the meeting, please post them on the ASU Web Community's Drupal forum.

NOTE: It is not necessary to sign up.
