Are you a front-end developer with passion for Drupal? Do you speak CSS? Balance Interactive is seeking an independent contractor on an ongoing basis for a Drupal themer who is passionate about quality work and front-end development. This is primarily a front–end development position, but if you are a great designer, that’s a plus!
Responsibilities include:
Converting Photoshop comps to standards-compliant Drupal themes
Prototyping front-end code for reusable page components
Producing and testing work for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility
Skills required:
Solid CSS and XHTML skills (you know how to code designs more than one way and you understand the advantages and disadvantages of each method)
Experience working with JavaScript and frameworks such as jQuery
Experience working with Drupal's theme layer
Experience working with Photoshop and an eye for design with regard to content presentation and user interfaces
Strong understanding of web standards, usability and accessibility
Ability to work independently and in teams
Excellent communication skills through Skype, email and/or phone will be required
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Detailed and organized
Problem solver who knows when to ask questions
Bonus Skills:
Knowledge of Joomla, WordPress, DotNetNuke and/or Ektron
Experience implementing solutions for mobile devices
Experience with responsive design
