E-commerce status update needed

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere (I couldn't find it if it was), but this project is in dire need of a major status update because there is conflicting information throughout drupal.org, drupalecommerce.org and here about what is in and what is out and what functionality we can expect.

In particular I'm looking at the subproduct functionality. The situation right now seems that it has been moved into core but I don't see any subproduct functions in RC11. It seems to have no updater or maintainer according to this and anyone thinking of using the contrib module with an earlier version of ecommerce is out of luck too because that has completely disappeared from drupal.org.

Can we please know where we're at?
