Contributed modules status - version 6.x

This is an informal list of plans for contributed modules being ported to 6.x. and consists of informal guesstimates by contributors. No one should expect exact delivery dates, but accurate info is the goal. For examples, the list of contributed modules being ported to 5.x is also available.

ANYONE can easily make updates because each list was created on a wiki page! EVERYONE is encouraged to contribute updates. Simply click on the "Edit" tab above (you should see 3 tabs - View, Edit, and Revisions) and then fill in the proper columns below with information that others using this site can depend upon. Please be as accurate as possible.

If you see that a particular contributed module is missing, please go ahead and add it. If you see that it is listed but its status appears outdated and you've searched around drupal.org and g.d.o and can't find out what its status is, as a last resort politely contact the maintainer (remember, he/she is a volunteer!) to see if he/she can make a quick update. My experience is that if you contact a maintainer in a polite manner, they will respond positively to your request. You should be able to contact most maintainers by going to their contact page either here on g.d.o or over on drupal.org and here is an email template for you to use that I developed:

SUBJECT: Any updates to Drupal "Contributed modules" wiki?

Hi [maintainer's name goes here],

"Contributed modules status - version 6.x" (http://groups.drupal.org/node/5036) was created to help the community and I need your assistance to ensure the wiki page reflects the latest status on any contributed module(s) you maintain.

Could you please take a minute to make updates on the wiki page for any contributed module(s) you maintain? The status of any contributed modules can easily be updated since they're all listed on a wiki page.

Thanks and keep up the great job! The community appreciates your excellent efforts and contributions!

About the table:
The "Status Date" column applies to actions undertaken on the "Status" column. If the "Status" column states a contributed module was "Ported to 6.x", list the "Status Date" as the actual date of when the module was ported. Please use MMM DD, YYYY format, e.g. Aug 21, 2007 or Sep 1, 2007.

The "Status" column is for anyone to provide known details about a module (whether or not it will be ported, when, etc.).

The "Source" column refers/links to any expanded comments by the respective maintainer/wiki page contributor on drupal.org and/or g.d.o. Maintainers/wiki page contributors should feel free to leave the "Source" column blank if it's not needed, e.g. "This module is now in core."

Notes:

Modules not listed here should be considered to be in an unknown status. Don't assume they won't be / haven't been ported. If a module(s) you use is(are) not listed, please consider adding it(them) and filling in the appropriate comments under the column headings. If you don't know something, please consider contacting the module maintainer(s) and requesting s/he make updates to this wiki page.
This page is about a contributed module's status, NOT for asking questions that should be asked in the drupal.org forums, issues queue, etc. Asking questions like "Will module ABC be ported?" or "What is the status of module XYZ?" will be deleted to keep this page clean.
If there is a module you need ported and you know PHP, consider contacting the maintainer and offering to help; a guide for converting modules from 5.x to 6.x is provided in the Developing for Drupal handbook. You can then create a patch and attach it to an issue in that module's issue queue, You may also consider joining Projects Needing Volunteer Developers.

Looking for the 6.x version of a contributed module? You can now filter by "6.x" on all of the contributed module download pages. You can also find them by searching the 6.x Drupal core compatibility category listing (also available as an RSS feed). You can also get these modules directly from the contributions repository in CVS. 6.x code can sometimes be found in the HEAD branch, or in a DRUPAL-6--1 branch. DRUPAL-6 branches in the contributions repository are no longer allowed. See this issue for details.
