Web Developer | Amon Carter Museum
WEB DEVELOPER. The Amon Carter Museum seeks a Web Developer who, working with the museum’s Graphic Designer, will provide primarily standards-compliant, server-side coding (site functionality and backend systems) to develop the museum’s Web site and other online initiatives; manage, maintain, enhance, and help build upon the Web site to optimize the online user experience, increase online audiences, and advance the mission and strategic plan of the institution. Requirements include B.A. degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience; minimum two years experience managing projects and clients; proficiency with Mac OS X, ability to work in a mixed Mac and Windows environment; Drupal development and theming experience essential; solid understanding of site structure and interface design; Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS also essential; jQuery and audio/visual skills (filming, editing) for video podcasts desirable; ability to manage online databases; working knowledge of Web imaging and multimedia authoring software such as Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, and/or other Web-authoring tools. Supervision of content and development of Web site and new-media initiatives is received from the Director of Publications; supervision of technical component is received from the Information Technology Manager.
