Squishymedia is a small web application design/development firm specializing in projects for government and healthcare clients. You’ll like working here. Our work focuses on doing good things for good organizations -- right now we’re building sites to share important climate change information, help people make smart healthcare decisions, and more effectively interact with government agencies. As cheesy as it may sound, we’re trying to do good work for our communities through doing work we find personally satisfying as well.
We’re growing by landing bigger and better projects and currently have a need for one or two new staffers with a track record of successful open-source web app development and technical skills.
Curious what kinds of projects you’d be working on? Right now we’re building a climate information portal for NOAA; finishing up a couple of consumer-oriented health information database sites; releasing our newest version of our cognitive science collaboration application; working on a mapping project for healthcare delivery systems; and building websites for two natural resource conservation organizations.
The required skills we’d be looking for:
* Demonstrated and current fluency in LAMP stack development technologies
* Demonstrated track record of success building useful web applications
* Be nice & have a sense of humor
* And while it’s not necessary to be a complete beer snob, be aware that eyebrows may be raised if you don’t know your pilsners from your porters (the new office will have a multi-tap kegerator)
Nice to have:
* Solid Drupal 6/7 experience
* Government web development experience
* Technical project management skills
* Linux sysadmin skills
And it’s a great office. Plenty of great coffee and drinkies, full flextime schedules, and full of nice people. We’re currently located in the bSide6 building at E Burnside and Grand but are soon to relocate into a great new office on Couch and 6th.
Candidates only, please. Solicitations from staffing firms will not be considered under any circumstances. Locals only, please.
Still interested? Contact wannawork@squishymedia.com with your resume, references, URLs of LAMP stack projects you’ve been part of, statement of interest relevant to the work we do, and compensation expectations. Hours, length of term, start date, 1099/W2, and compensation terms will be figured out when we start talking to specific people about the gig.
Apologies for this in advance, but due to the number of responses we may not be able to reply individually to everyone, just those who seem to be the best fit for the position.
