Under the direction of the Development Team Lead, this position is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications for the Playboy Online team. The position is primarily focused on customer facing websites that leverage Content Management Systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide development and maintenance for web based applications and systems.
2. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand their needs, design solutions and build appropriate applications.
3. Have key involvement in large-scale corporate initiatives including the design and implementation of content management, personalization, search and other applications as required by the business.
4. Execute projects in compliance with application architecture, development, and deployment standards. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to eliminate defects and ensure application stability and scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4+ years increasingly responsible technology experience, with prior hands-on work experience in applications development related to a company with a major web presence.
• Experience developing solutions using one or more of the following types of systems: Web Content Management, Content Personalization, Collaborative Filtering, Behavioral Targeting, Full Text Search.
• Must have direct experience in designing, building, and supporting a very large web presence including first-hand knowledge of scalability & security techniques.
• Intensive implementation experience with the following technologies: Java/J2EE, WCM (Fatwire preferred), Frameworks such as Struts / Spring / Hibernate, Freemarker/Velocity, OO Design Patterns, Full Text Search (Lucene preferred), Source Code Management (SVN preferred), Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat.
• Experience working with large relational Oracle databases using PL/SQL, including writing complex SQL queries and developing stored procedures.
• Experience using a structured, process-oriented SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including working with software releases through multiple different environments (ie: DEV, QA, PROD).
• Previous experience with Agile development methodologies; including SCRUM, user stories, iterative development, test-driven development, continuous integration, and paired programming.
• Experience with any of the following a plus: SOA/Web Services (SOAP & REST), AJAX/RIA, Web Analytics (CoreMetrics), Continuous Integration (Cruise), Agile Project Management Tools (Rally).
• Must be comfortable working in a Windows and Linux environment.
• Must have excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills as well as being highly self-motivated.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or other technical discipline required.
