Taxonomy Manager 2.0 released!
The last month I've been working on some new features for the Taxonomy Manager. This new major release includes new features like an optional double tree interface (see screenshot), where you can display two trees side by side and perform operations between the two trees. The double tree interface supports operations to move terms in hierarchies, to add new translations and to switch terms between different vocabularies.
Another important point was the support of i18n and multilingual vocabularies (per language terms). I added a lanuage selector, which filters the tree view for a specific language. Additionally, it's possible to add new translations either on the term edit view or within the double tree interface.
For the full list of new features and more information you can read the release notes. If you want to test the new features, you can use my demo site.

Nice work Matthias. Here's
Nice work Matthias. Here's our work for Encyclopedia of Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QHSvYrP0O4
Need a little help with the merge function
Hi Matthias,
We have just installed Taxonomy Manager and there is something I would like to use it for but I am a little hesitant. Here is my question, which I also posted to the drupal4lib listserv:
Term X is under Vocabulary A
A duplicate of Term X is also under Vocabulary B
Can I open the double-tree interface, check both instances of Term X, and then click "Merge"?
The end result I actually want is that all nodes that were tagged with Term X under Vocabulary B start using the instance of Term X that is under Vocabulary A, and then I will delete the Term X under Vocabulary B.
Basically, I am just scared to click Merge and don't know what options it will present me with after I click Merge, and I don't know if there is a way to undo it if it wasn't what I wanted.
Thanks for any insight you can supply.
I'm guessing...
I'm guessing the typical response to your questions would be:
-> backup your database
-> click "Merge" and see if it does anything of value to you.
-> if yes, smile...
-> if no, restore from your backup
Be brave, it's the best way to learn... plus it's fun :)
Oh ya, don't forget to report back what you find. We're all keen to learn as well.
