LIGHTNING ROUNDS
New feature. Have a topic you can present in 5 minutes (with 5 more minutes for questions)? The basic idea is there are patterns for developing sites the "drupal" way ("what would drupal do? etc."). Tell us a quick 5 minute recipe for how to put the Drupal "bricks" together. Theming techniques or other things may also be appropriate. Propose it below. Make sure you mention it is for the "lightning round" otherwise it might get confused with a longer presentation.- Style Tile examples with Sass/Compass

20 Min Talks
Have a topic that needs more then 5 minutes, we have slots of 20 minute talks. The basic idea is there are broader subjects or more detailed discussions this is the type of talk you would want to signup for, please mention 20 min talk when posting your talk description and the audience you expect to speak to.- Introducing Drupal Monitor
- Style Tiles and Drupal
- Signup for 20 minute ~ Talk
- We will also have the New 2 Drupal BoF(birds of a feather). If you are new to Drupal and the talks don't apply to you some of us will take a group and talk with you about your issues.
Signup Instructions!: 7 World Trade Center security checks your photo id against the list of attendees that we provide.

Hi there,
I'd like to do a 20 min talk about drupalmonitor.com. Drupalmonitor.com is a free service to monitor your Drupal sites security, performance and configuration. I'd like to give the audience insight why we started to build that service, why it's good to monitor your Drupal website, how the tool is built. I'd also like to open the discussion how we (as Drupal dev/ops) overcome the Drupal update hassle, how we monitor the Drupal application stack, etc. I don't want to do a "promo" show for drupalmonitor.com. It's more an open discussion about Drupal maintenance and monitoring.
I did something similiar before at http://www.slideshare.net/netnode/drupalmonitorcom-drupal-user-group-mee... and als Drupal commerce camp in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Hope this works out!

Meeting Day is Changed to TUESDAY Oct 2nd
Owing to a conflict that our gracious host has, we are having to reschedule next month's meetup to the day before.
Meeting will be 1 day early this month
The October meetup will take place on TUESDAY Oct 2nd.
(the day before the regularly scheduled day.)
Time and location are unchanged, just 1 day early. Hope to see everyone there.
I was asked to talk about
I was asked to talk about Style Tiles/Guides/Sites in Munich, so I'm happy to do a 20 min on those if people are interested.
5 mins on Creating Style Tiles with Sass and Compass
I can do 5 mins on creating Style Tiles in sass and compass. It's a personal project I have been working on and it's on Github. It may make sense however to go after Sam if he's going to talk about Style Tiles and Style Guides.
You decide!

A presentation of a presentation?
Would the group consider watching a TED Talk:
Clay Shirky: How the Internet will (one day) transform government :
http://www.ted.com/talks/clay_shirky_how_the_internet_will_one_day_trans...
The open-source world has learned to deal with a flood of new, oftentimes divergent, ideas using hosting services like GitHub -- so why can’t governments? In this rousing talk Clay Shirky shows how democracies can take a lesson from the Internet, to be not just transparent but also to draw on the knowledge of all their citizens.
Clay Shirky argues that the history of the modern world could be rendered as the history of ways of arguing, where changes in media change what sort of arguments are possible -- with deep social and political implications.
The key point being the use of GIT the distributed version control software that Clay suggests is the next "Printing Press" in terms of its potential as a disruptor of how governments function.
If there's interest, I could
If there's interest, I could do a 5 minute lightning talk on why I'm running for the Drupal Association Board of Directors.
