RHRealityCheck.org, an award-winning and growing online publication and community for progressive reproductive health and rights news and commentary, is seeking an experienced free lance Drupal developer to assist with two big development projects for 25-30 hours a week over the next nine months. Our small team telecommutes and is based all over the country. I, Brady Swenson, the project's New Media Director, am based in Lawrence, KS and so am seeking someone in the Lawrence / Kansas City area so that we may work together in person from time to time. This is not a deal breaker, however, and I encourage all US-based coders who are interested to apply. Position Summary: Responsible for working with New Media Director to research, plan, develop, test, implement and maintain solutions on the Drupal CMS platform for RHRealityCheck.org. This is a free lance contract for 25 hours per week for a duration of nine months with a provision to extend the contract if needed. No additional benefits offered with the contract.

Qualifications:
• 2+ years designing, building & supporting complex web application code for large consumer focused websites or equivalent education
• Proficient with xHTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, PHP 5+, MySQL, Drupal
• Thorough knowledge of available Drupal modules
• Thorough knowledge of web & search engine optimization standards, compliance, browser/platform compatibility and accessibility
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Familiarity with versioning management systems such as SVN
• Familiarity with Kaltura open source video system a plus
• Familiarity with Open Atrium Drupal project a plus
• Familiarity with of ad serving technologies & reporting architectures a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• An independent worker, well organized
• Ability to work in a virtual environment with a team

Responsibilities:
• Contribute to conceptual project planning
• Research different approaches to achieving functionality within Drupal
• Develop and implement solutions for large Drupal projects
• Develop, test and implement cross-browser compatible Drupal themes using valid xHTML/CSS
• Maintenance and creative problem-solving using Drupal
