Sejlnet.dk will be a social/media/geocms/group site for recreational danish sailors. I also want to offer online services to established sailing clubs, like event management, forums, calendar. The site will eventually be in Danish language, but initial setup can be done in English and I will have it translated later by independent translator. Looking forward to working with creative drupal expert, that will be able to help develop on the site in the future as request for new features come in.
The idea is that all content is maintained by the users and everything is linked together. Example: a user page has a home harbor listed, and you can click on it.. See images from that harbor, maybe of a specific boat that has an entry in the boat registry where you see who owns it… and click on the type to get more data on that boat type and see types close by your own position..
Made in drupal 6.. With standard modules, if possible..
Organic groups..
Users should be able to organize groups such as sailing clubs, special interest (boat types etc), location
Personal page (adv profile)
All users have a personal page with their personal data and where they can show their boat, activities in a blog, images, participating events, etc
Name, address, phone – home harbor, own boat X, crew on boat Y, (b)log, gallery, position, weather, etc
Directory of boat types (user maintained wiki)
A directory of boat types that contain essential data about boat. Manufacturer, number produced, trivia, etc
Directory of harbours (user maintained wiki)
A directory of danish harbours that contain essential data about that harbour. Sortable by name, distance, map.. Ability to see images taken nearby.
(My Boat) Boat database (owner maintained)
A registry of boats maintained by the current owner. Boat type, name, location, home harbor, images, crew, etc
Business directory (owner maintained)
Classified ads for trading used equipment
Buy/sell boats or equipment. The system should be prepared, so professional boat dealers can post their ads via some easy XML format from their own systems.
Dating/crewing ads
Ability to search for crews. Should be made so people can use it as a sort of dating service. Maybe http://drupal.org/project/jobplus ?
Blogs
WYSIWYG (fckeditor ?) Ability to post thumbs from personal gallery (image assist). The blog should be like a ships log or personal log.
Forum (advanced forum, if possible with groups)

Personal images should be post-able in forum and blog posts by browsing thumbs (image assist)

Users or groups should be able to post events and manage sign-ups for event.
Most sailing clubs arrange weekly races, that run the season and would maybe use some sort of system to post and track results.
