DataSphere Technologies is a recent Seattle-area startup backed by Ignition Partners and other investors. We have spent the last three years building a set of highly scalable technologies to power some of the most immersive Web experiences in the Media, Real Estate and ecommerce spaces. We power all or part of over 250 Web sites and we expect to grow this number at an ever increasing rate. We are looking for a seriously solid high-end Drupal Technologist to begin the next phase of our platform. We are currently designing/creating what will become the largest Drupal-based network of highly interactive sites in the world. You will be working with an amazing team of architects, developers and UI specialists to configure and build some amazing solutions and extend functionality into new directions. You will be THE Drupal Expert. You will help us design the platform and work with a team of technical PM/Drupal site developers to ensure scalability, performance and best practices. What we need:

Highly creative and smart
3+ years of development/administration using the LAMP stack
2+ years focused on Drupal specifically
Practical knowledge and experience scaling all aspects of a Drupal site
You understand which parts of Drupal scale better than others and know various options or deviations to address
You have expert knowledge of PHP and able to design innovative modules
You know techniques to modify sites while keeping them upgradable and patchable
You have strategies for maintaining/upgrading hundreds of sites in a scalable fashion
You have Expertise with the CCK and multi-site Environments
You have experience analyzing the performance of the entire LAMP Stack
You helped setup a supportable production environment and can provide tier 3 support
Providing guidance, techniques and best practices for a team of Drupal Site Developers
Excellent organizational, teamwork and communications skills
Entrepreneurial and results-oriented work ethic

What we’d like (but not required):

You understand how to administer MySQL in a scale-out model using master-slave MySQL databases with fail-over masters
MySQL Query Optimization and profiling is a simple process for you
You can review approaches for best practices on Front-end performance using compressions and aggregation
You have used EC2 and CloudFront or other CDNs
B.S. in Computer Science or related
