Hey Folks,
Been thinking about this for a while now. If we are to strengthen our regions, we need to keep organizing large format camps in our regions, to create a large and meaningful impact at all levels.
The community down south had conducted Drupal Camp Deccan with some success last year at Hyderabad and am looking at an opportunity to recreate this success at either Chennai OR Bangalore again by the end of this year OR early next year. I am already seeing this idea mirrored in Rahul's thinking where he has taken initiative to hold a Delhi Camp second edition.
It is my personal belief that Drupal Camp Deccan has been the most successful camp by far (by numbers and by quality of content), due to the coordinated action and participation from three cities. People had come from as far as Ireland to attend the camp.
Since all of you folks are meeting up this Sunday to chalk out actionables, I was wondering if you could make this point an addendum to your agenda and take inputs from members in each city. That way, we could get a consensus on the need to organize such an event and then later decide where to actually hold it.
The HOW part can be discussed later, once we reach a consensus on WHAT part.
May I request, all individual members organizing, coordinating, attending your city meetups on Sunday, to take this up internally.
