new Irish Postcodes system moving out of beta soon
Just got an email from the Irish postcodes guys....their postcode system is moving out of beta now, following a few years of testing.
Their PON Codes (a geo-postcoding system for Ireland) covers Northern Ireland as well, which is useful because the NI postcode system is token at best. The Irish PON code system is very accurate.
Just thought I'd mention it. Here's their website: http://www.irishpostcodes.ie for more info.
No idea if An Post (The irish postal service) will adopt the system (I can't imagine a more accurate and simple way of creating postcodes) when it's rolled out, but couriers and Garmin are already using it.
