Southbank Centre is looking for a Lead Developer to join our New Media Team; you will take a proactive role in developing technical solutions for our emerging digital strategy. With a passion for delivering high quality code and developing software solutions, you will have the ability to determine the future architecture of our digital platforms.
The New Media team plays an essential role in the delivery of Southbank Centre’s emerging digital strategy and is responsible for all digital channels including web, email and social media. This new role will play a key part in shifting the focus from a website to a broader digital infrastructure.
The role requires a confident communicator who is capable of producing high-quality planning and technical documentation. You will have the organisational skills and a flexible, proactive attitude which enables you to work with others effectively. Reporting to the New Media Manager, you will take a lead on all technical decisions affecting the Southbank Centre’s website and digital architecture along with developing technical plans according to: development specifications, project briefs and organisational objectives. It will be important for the post holder to be able to estimate timings and distribute workload in order to deliver projects successfully and on time.
You will need to be experienced with a broad range of relevant products, including: Drupal 6/7, PHP, Varnish, MySQL, Solr and AJAX and have experience of version control systems such as GitHub or subversion. We are looking for someone with a background of successful development projects as well as a good understanding of relational database design concepts and usage.
