Just a heads up on the sandbox. It was taken from HEAD after Drupal 5 was released, so there could be some discrepancies with the latest release (5.1). Try to work with the latest release version.

Actually outdated is probably the wrong term.
It was taken from HEAD after Drupal 5 was released; it has some Drupal 6 in it. My feeling at the time was there wasn't likely to be very MUCH Drupal 6, but there are likely to be some discrepencies.
If there is a question, compare the code to the real function. It's easy to do this using api.drupal.org.
