Senior Web Developer | AQUENT (on behalf of client)
We at Aquent are looking for a Senior Web Developer to work at a downtown Toronto creative studio on a contract to permanent assignment. The right candidate will have hands on programming skills and the ability to act as a mentor to more junior team members in an open source web development environment.
THE ROLE:
Working with the internal team from project inception to completion, this role focuses on assessing, recommending and meeting client's needs. Working mainly in an open source environment, the typical types of projects that this person would be working on could include: application development, website development and hosting, web marketing, email campaign design and deployment, multimedia initiatives including DVD's or presentations, and so much more.
Working as the "web guru" in this creative studio means being able to communicate clearly to colleagues and management alike. Also, the ability to wear multiple hats is essential.
THE MUST HAVE's:
- 5yrs+ experience in a professional development role
- Hands on experience working in an open source development environment, specifically L.A.M.P
- Exceptional skills in PHP and Drupal development
- Experience in Flash is an asset
- Expertise with best practices, trends in web development and marketing
- Experience working with multimedia projects including DVD, video and presentations
- The ability to troubleshoot and mentor more junior team members
