Programmer, Online Web Development
Is web development your passion? Gold Country Media, serving over ten communities with their local and national news both online and through several print publications is looking for a Programmer with Drupal experience to be part of our web services division. The position is located in Roseville, CA with light travel to our offices throughout the county. In this position, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all Gold Country Media web sites and applications. You will develop under a production schedule and assist in marketing our products to clients. We are looking for a team player with abilities to work within tight timelines and understand publishing deadlines. We are looking for someone to offer their vision, share their passion with creative ideas to make the company websites more attractive and interactive.
Some duties include the following:
○ Develop and maintain interactive web applications with an eye on security, functionality and intuitive user interfaces.
○ Provide system administration where needed.
○ Develop and maintain databases with scalability and growth in mind.
○ Provide technical guidance and support of web development across the organization.
○ Determine an estimate of resources (time, software, hardware, etc.) for project phases as outlined.
Qualifications: We require professional experience in the development of web-based applications with open source technologies such as Linux, Apache, Perl, PHP, and MySQL.
1 to 3 years of programming experience for an innovative, Web-based company desired. Drupal experience a HUGE plus.
Server Side:
• MySQL

• JavaScript (jQuery)
• CSS
• XHTML / XML / JSON
Protocols and Web Services:
• HTTP
• SSL and more...
While not required for the position, experience with any of the following would be beneficial: • Flash (front-end design or back-end integration via ActionScript/XML) • Search engine optimization.
