Initial Site Development | elboh

I'm currently halfway through setting up a UK based charity which revolves around helping volunteers find organisations. I think I've got some fairly good ideas of how to go about this but at the moment I'm struggling with Drupal as a one man team and would really like someone else to come on board even if only for a short amount of work.

My background is in programming but not so much in web development and I'm having a hard time with the learning curve and lack of time. I need someone who can set up the basics of a Social Networking site (and I mean real basics, I want to exclude most of the things that people consider standard such as Facebook style walls). I have a checklist of features I would like to be included which are slightly different to the types found on Facebook / Myspace and would require some level of customization, but nothing too heavy - I've looked around and they all seem to be doable by existing modules but I feel like I'm spending weeks on this where someone with more experience could sit down and produce what I need within a few hours.

Ideally I'm looking for someone who is interested in trying to do something that helps other people - if you can only help for a few hours that's great - if you feel like you want to join me for a more long term project then I'd also like to hear from people who are interested in that too. I know it's a little vague but get in touch if you'd like to know more. I'd like to find someone that is willing to do this for free (as I'm also doing this in my spare time and am effectively looking for like-minded people), but I would consider paying if no one wants to volunteer and your skills are at a sufficient level.

Minimum - someone who can help me set up the basics of a social networking site.

Ideal - join the project on a more permanent basis, help set up the basics, help with visual customization and any other aspects you might want to get involved in.
