Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Lead Developer plays a fundamental role in the overall service delivery strategy. Working closely with internal departments, the Lead Developer’s primary responsibilities are to act as the lead architect in the initial planning stages of a web project and to supervise one of our developer teams to ensure the highest quality product is delivered. The ideal candidate has both excellent communication skills and coding ability and is passionate about delivering excellence in all facets of their professional life.
About the Job:
• Supervises a small team of Drupal developers to ensure effective and efficient application development methodologies
• Works with developers to ensure sites and development workflow adhere to requirements and project timelines
• Provides web development services in the building of or maintaining client websites
• Works closely with the Project Management and Sales Departments to define and estimate the technical scope of web projects
• Champions quality assurance program and contributes to the improvement of QA
• Provides training and guidance to developers to support a learning culture
• Keeps well-informed of industry best practices and advances and shares new knowledge to improve company processes, technology, and results
• Assesses knowledge and skills of development team regularly and makes routine training/development recommendations
• Manages the performance of one of our developer teams through coaching, mentoring, and proactive performance management techniques
• Contributes to internal technology projects and providing efforts toward finding appropriate solutions to various problems
• Contributes to improving our technology platform and new product development
• Speaks at conferences and events on ImageX’s behalf
• Occasional client training
About You:
You’re a web developer expert who’s ready for the next challenge. Fluent in Drupal, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery, you also have a knack for coaching and mentoring individuals. You possess a natural ability to connect quickly and easily with others, which gives you top notch interpersonal and communication skills.
You Need:
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field
• Minimum of 3 years Drupal web development experience
• Minimum of 5 years web programming experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in a lead developer or supervisory role
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience integrating open source and 3rd party applications into existing systems
• Intermediate proficiency in Linux administration, Apache configuration, MySQL database design, and PHP web development
• Intermediate proficiency in hand-coded W3C compliant Javascript, HTML & CSS
• Thorough understanding and proven implementation of W3C Web Standards
• Experience with PC, Mac, Google Documents, Skype and online collaboration tools
• A passion to learn and advance your self-education
• Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Self-starter who takes initiative for self-improvement in areas of weakness
