Direct Mail Database Administrator
Job Summary
The BC NDP is seeking a database administrator to provide list production, results reporting and quality assurance of weekly direct mail products for the BC NDP.
Job Duties
Working with a CiviCRM database build segments and target lists of direct mail donors.
• Build comprehensive and consistent segments based on recency, frequency, monetary and gift-channel donor profiles
• Write SQL and/or PHP queries that update MySQL custom variables with segment details
• Work with the mailhouse to proof print materials to ensure accurate printing of segments and past gift variables
• Measure success of specific segments and report daily on project outcomes
• Balance weekly production deadlines with reporting past week's projects and future week's deadlines
• Provide limited data entry where necessary to complete projects on tight timelines
• Merge mail-based datasets post-production back into MySQL
• Provide mail-merge support to administrative staff to complete small direct mail projects
• Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
• At least two years experience administering data in a mail-based data production environment or a combination of a computer science degree or equivalent work experience
• Working understanding of MySQL databases and proven experience writing custom queries in SQL
• Experience fundraising or working as a database administrator in a fundraising based organization
• Experience producing print materials
• Knowledge of the structure, history, policies and principles of the New Democratic Party of BC and Canada
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure in stressful situations
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
Compensation per the CUPE 3787 collective agreement - approximately $5,250 a month plus benefits.
This is a term position starting in mid-January 2013 ending May 14, 2013.
