I'd like to propose a local reverse open mike night where you bring the problems that you are facing with your project or development environments and a group of reasonably well qualified "experts" respond to them directly with suggestions for how to resolve them. I spent countless hours as a novice struggling with the "Drupal Way" and would be happy to share anything I've learned along the way with local people in a similar situation. The panel might provide broad outlines for site strategies (modules, interactions, etc) of undeveloped ideas or concise answers to technical questions regarding module or theme development.
Depending on the interest, we could host it somewhere informally like Gingerman where they have internet access AND tasty beer. Would anyone be interested in attending such an event? I've never shied away from giving away free advice and I'm sure a couple others in the area would consider joining the panel as well. -mf

Meetup
I think this is a great idea. I could have used something similar while I was climbing the notorious Drupal learning curve, and wouldn't mind sitting on the panel if your looking for folks. May I suggest that this be integrated with the monthly meet-up. Attendance has been steadily growing. Something along these lines tends to loosely happen at Little Woodrow's afterward, so I think the group would be really receptive to it.
Sure integration with the
Sure integration with the meetup is fine by me. Just didn't want to step on anyones toes or derail existing plans. So i know "2 people make a conspiracy" but I'm not sure if they make a panel... Do we have any interest from the community who might have questions/problems? And maybe 2-3 more local "experts" to help Ryan and I out fielding questions.
I'll sit on a panel
I'm not a Drupal expert so much as a Drupal SEO expert but I'm glad to field questions on a panel.
Cheers,

Nice idea - a slight tweak
I really like the idea. Perhaps it could even be less formal than a panel - just an open Q&A session. We could even have some folks post questions & issues before the meetup so we have something to chew on - to prime the pump.
