Contract Developer that Knows Craft Beer | BreweryFans.com
We are looking for a firm or an individual drupal developer to help us finish a fairly complicated, custom drupal site called BreweryFans.com. Please check out what we have done so far at www.breweryfans.com
The site is about 90% complete, the current code was written by an Indian firm, and we need an American firm/coder to help us finish the site so we can launch it publicly.
It would be a HUGE plus if the firm/coder we hire understands and loves the craft beer industry. Our business model is to make money from breweries paying us a monthly fee of $50 to $100 per month for them to access their fan data.
If you are interested, please send us a range for how much you think it would cost to finish the below 12 things, AND a timeline for how long you feel it would take. We understand you probably need to look under the hood to make the most accurate proposal, but for now, just do your best and give us a range, with a margin of error of about $1,000.
Please email us at jon@breweryfans.com with your proposal if you are interested, include some sites you have worked on as well and why we should choose you. We are located in Washington DC, but we will accept any firm/coder that speaks english and understand the craft beer industry.
Here is what we still need done:
-
Ability for super admin to upload multiple beerspots at once in the backend administration. The super admin should be able to import an excel spreadsheet with specific columns of data (with hundreds to thousands of records at once) and the data will be imported and directly assigned to the appropriate brewery, beer name, and location page. If the location and beer name do not exist, these will be created just like adding a single beerspot. This functionality was built by the first Indian firm, but seems to be not working now. The first Indian firm made a way for me to go into the backened super administration and import an excel spreadsheet and then assign the columns to specific database tables. A beerspot consists of a name of a bar/restaurant, an address, city, state, zip, a brewery name, and a beer name that was spotted there. We have excel spreadsheets that a beer distributor gives us that might have 10,000 records of where all the beers from a specific brewery are offered. We want to be able to easily take those spreadsheets, clean them up a little, and then import them into the site so that our users can see that data on our beerspotter map and on the individual beer and location pages. This is one of the most important parts of the site.
-
Forums. The forums are working about 50% of what we need. Each brewery fan page will have its own unique forum, with 4 pre defined topics. Users can add comments to each topic, but can not create new topics. This is sort of like a single brewery fan page having 4 pre defined facebook walls (very simple). The 4 predefined topics (which all brewery fan pages will have the exact same 4 and can not change them) will be 1. Why are you a fan 2. How did you learn about our brewery 3. What could we improve to get better 4. Miscellaneous commentary for the brewer

Twitter and Youtube integration. The twitter and youtube integration for each brewery fan page is currently working. I want to make sure that the information pulled in from these two websites refreshes once at least once a day, preferrably once an hour, if it does not slow the site down. I do want the Youtube videos to display a little differently though.
-
Brewery administration. We have not tested the ability for a brewery admin to add text content and a logo for their unique brewery. I believe this is working in some respect, but may need some small tweaks. We will want this functionality working properly.
-
BeerSpotter. We will want to make sure the beerspotter is pulling in the right information for each city. This has been tested and it seems to be working about 80%, there are some kinks that need to be smoothed out.
-
Email alerts. The email alerts seem to be working on the front end, but we do need to test how the email is sent out when a beerspot is added that matches a certain criteria.
-
Rating beers. When a user joins a brewery fan page, it currently prompts the user to rate the beers of that brewery, great, I want to make sure that the brewery admin can see a report of what their user's are rating their beers by gender. This is already done, I just want to test it more.
-
Promoting beers. If a brewery admin clicks to promote a beer, then the beer will come up at the top of a location page and be emphasized. This has already been built into the backend admin, I just do not think it is working on the individual location pages.
-
The Widget. We want a widget for each beer, so that anyone can grab the widget and place it on an another website. The widget would pull in beerspotter data for where to locate that specific beer.
-
SEO. I think the site is fairly search engine optimized with title tags and descriptions for each beer and brewery, if this can be further improved, awesome.
-
All breweries. We need to load in all 1000 breweries in our database, which is in an excel spreadsheet. This should be very simple to do. Right now there are only 6 because we are testing them.
-
Reports. Several custom reports for brewery administrators to see the survey ratings for males, females, etc.
