Calling all freelancers, small companies from Upstate NY

Hi,

I know we have a bunch of freelancers and small companies in Upstate NY (Albany, Hudson Valley, WNY group) providing services on Drupal. What I am proposing here is instead of consulting individually why can't we merge together as One company and serve the clients in this area. The more Drupal experts (PM, Architects, Themers, Module Devleoper. etc.) we have under one umbrella we can serve for big clients too. What are your thoughts on this and how many of you like the idea?

The biggest advantage is we can market more and get the bigger clients too.

Mahesh

Although my schedule isn't

Although my schedule isn't conducive to anything permanent at the moment, I'm always interested in hearing about interesting projects!

Perhaps something less formal can be considered: an upstate Drupalista's guild of sorts where connections like this might be developed. It would also have the benefit of drawing potential meetups from a wider crowd, as I know the upstate community is somewhat fragmented.

I am interested, but we need

I am interested, but we need to have a business plan to operate under. Meritocracy for decision making, self-regulated w/ an initial gate, or whichever model is best. Are there any other Drupal groups that have done similar? Do they have their business model posted online? Or are there any other software business plans that people know of? It may be best to outline it ourselves and keep it simple.

I have some ideas / plans, but will wait until others share theirs.

This would increase all of our efficiency and quality greatly!

If we build the proper product it could be brought nationally or globally.

This could go across other communities as their are numerous skill sets needed. We need a list of skills/ job types that are desired (the business plan will help determine these).
