WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

We of My Global Perspective are a growing alliance of global Filipino web designers and developers volunteering to empower itself, teddycasino.org, and all other mission-based, pro-people users and groups in and from the Philippines.

We are donating our time and energy, knowledge and experience, relationships and resources to help all true public and private servants of our birthplace by arming them with a fresh, comprehensive and integrated arsenal of free and pioneering open source tools, gadgets, and utilities for grassroots communit-e building. Action-oriented networking. Centralized and unified mass communications. Cyber campaigns and fundraising drives. Informational, educational, and organizational imperatives. Humanitarian project collaborations and a host of other civics-centric, issue-driving, cause-advocating technologies meant to serve the Filipino people first. The marginalized and under-represented above all.

To accomplish this ground-breaking goal, we are pioneering in teddycasino.org, the use and development, adoption and customization of the open source and freely downloadable constituent relationship management solution, CiviCRM: "a powerful contact, fundraising and eCRM system that allows you to record and manage information about your various constituents. Track and execute donations, transactions, conversations, events or any type of correspondence with each constituent and store it all in one, easily accessible and manageable source."

Check out the demo (http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/), watch the tutorials (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Screencasts), and read any (of many) case studies (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Case+Studies). No doubt you will discover for yourself, the awesome power and infinite potential of CiviCRM for your own cause or advocacy, whether in Drupal or Joomla CMS, or its own Stand Alone Application.

OUR ON-GOING CHALLENGE WITH CIVICRM

Unfortunately, like any other software, CiviCRM comes with bugs and issues. Below are CiviCRM ACL (Permissioning) Issues we have been trying desperately to solve (hopefully through CMS Modules, but definitely not hacks that would make CiviCRM impossible to upgrade):

* Without full access to the CMS back-end, a registered user cannot create a CiviCRM event;
* Same cannot manage or view/edit/delete his/her own CiviCRM events;
* Same cannot be configured to access or edit/delete other events but his/her own;
* Same cannot be configured to create a contribution page of his/her own;
* Same cannot be configured to have access and manage his/her own contribution page;
* Same cannot be configured to search contribution pages by contributor name(s) or e-mail (s);
* Same cannot be configured to create an e-mail blast using civiMail;
* Same cannot be configured to have full access to his/her own e-mail template;
* Same cannot be configured to create and manage groups;
* Same cannot be configured to have access or to edit/delete his/her own group;
* Same cannot be configured to view and join other groups;
* Same cannot be configured to search other members by name(s) or e-mails.

To solve above issues in our chosen CMS, Acquia Drupal:

* We have exhausted Drupal and CiviCRM Forums and found no easy (or difficult) solutions to implement. Just more questions.
* We have reached out to the CiviCRM professional community for Pro-Bono Services and expectedly received no response. Just good luck.
* We have attended a Hands-on Training Session in New York for Customizing and Extending CiviCRM and now we need your help. Just keep reading :)

WANTED: PRO-BONO PHP/DRUPAL PROBLEM-SOLVERS

CiviCRM's Donald Lobo advised that we use Drupal Hooks with PHP Codes to create Drupal Module in Stable or Release Version of CiviCRM 3.0. To make this happen, we are:

1) Documenting CiviCRM Seminar Lessons and Findings;
2) Creating a Development Guide or Road Map (of Sorts); and
3) Immediately Working on Codes, Module(s), and sadly even Hacks.

We would love to share all of the above in exchange for any and all possible PHP/Drupal help you can provide. Best if you also already know Drupal, or even better Acquia Drupal. So please do not hesitate to contact me directly at any time. Thank you very much for your time and attention, and in joyful hope, no matter what, I remain vigilantly looking forward to hearing from you soon!
