TITLE: Web Developer (LAMP/Drupal)
COMPENSATION: Fair market price.
TERM: Part-time, flexible schedule, potential for full time, work at home.

DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable, responsible web developer who takes their work seriously, is obsessed with clean, well-commented, rock solid code, and who has an excellent work ethic. Should have superior skills in a Linux environment, an astonishing ability to be present online seemingly at all times (at least during business hours), willingness to respond quickly, and a proactive attitude. Must play well with others.

Qualified applicants will possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

Strong experience in installing, maintaining, and customizing Drupal-based websites and CMS'es

Experience integrating sites with DIA's various tools

Mastery of HTML, CSS, XHTML, W3C compliant development following web standards

Excellent skills developing in PHP with MySQL. General experience with using/building Content Management Systems (CMS) that are not necessarily in Drupal. Experience with larger-scale, object-oriented web applications is a plus.

In-depth knowledge of browser capabilities and compatibility issues

Technical knowledge about shopping carts, RSS feeds, podcasting and more

Skilled technical support abilities, and ability to ensure solutions meet all required technical standards and documentation

able to accurately estimate projects

Familiar with Mac and PC environments and OS - applicants who possess both Mac and PC platforms preferred

The successful candidate will have 4+ years in a similar role with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience. We are seeking an individual who previously participated in a multi-person development environment and must be organized, detail-oriented and possess the ability to work well with others. The ideal person will have a proven track record of self-motivation and accountability and the ability to learn on their own if necessary. Also has strong written and verbal skills for technical and non-technical communication. Additionally, this position requires the ability to multi-task and manage ones own time well. Working from your location requires you to have exceptional communication skills, responsiveness, and timeliness.

This position is on a project basis to start, with potential to become full time for the right person.

We prefer someone who is based in New York and can work in the office from time to time as needed, although will consider applications from other locations in the US (eastern, central, mountain or pacific time zones).
