Let's get together at Roasters (45th & Teckla) and talk about Drupal!

Since this is the first Drupal meetup in Amarillo that I know of, let's not plan too much. Let's mainly just see what's on everyone's minds when we show up.

I do have some preliminary thoughts on what we could do, but it will really depend on who all shows up. So my preliminary thoughts are:

Meet each other. Where do you work? What is your specialty? What brought you to Drupal? What have you done with Drupal?
Introduce Drupal to people who are brand new to it. Could include installing Drupal on personal laptops or development sites.
Show a site you worked on, and you really like this one feature about it.
Show a site you found that's just incredible.
Talk about a challenge you had and how you solved it in Drupal.
Present a challenge or question you currently have, and maybe we can get close to an answer for you.

If you have suggestions or questions, leave a comment.
Also leave a comment if you think you might be attending, but don't want to officially "sign up" for the event.

I just ran across this group. Until now, I thought I was alone in west texas in my fascination with Drupal.

Are any of you in the Amarillo area? If you would be interested in a meetup in Amarillo or Lubbock, please leave a comment. It would be lovely to meet some other Drupal enthusiasts face to face, near my own home!

Drupal Theming Workshop presented by Digett

Come join the Digett team as we present an all-day, hands-on Drupal theming workshop.

This workshop is aimed at a beginner to intermediate level, and will provide everything possible to bring you up to speed on the most fundamental element in leveraging Drupal to create a powerful, attractive solution for your clients. Planned sessions include theming basics, building a theme from the ground up, and theming Views and CCK. Bring your laptop and works-in-progress as we will be glad to help you hammer out any obstacles you are facing. We also plan on having a panel discussion including team members with expertise in development, design and business.

Details

We'll be meeting at the very hip Parish Room on 6th street. We are limiting seating to 35. Early bird rate is $199. We are in the process of building an online registration form, so until then you can simply inquire via email. Proceeds will benefit the Drupal Association.
