(Volunteer) Developer needed for Open Atrium site | MIT Center for Future Civic Media
I'm a media studies grad student at MIT working at the Center for Future Civic Media (in conjunction with the Media Lab) on a project to connect teenagers in different countries as "digital penpals." We're working to develop a website that will be a forum for students to share multimedia projects and interact; the pilot groups include Burmese refugee youth in Asia and Indiana, as well as kids in Liverpool and Brooklyn. The project is led by a group in NYC called Digital Democracy, with collaboration from the arts organization Eyebeam.
The site platform is Open Atrium, which is a variation of Drupal. We need a volunteer to coordinate with NYC developers in creating and refining Open Atrium features (based on Drupal modules). Anyone with web or Drupal experience would be helpful.
