Brief Explanation
Hello World! I am new to the Drupal world and am really excited. I was wondering if you could give a brief overview of what these group meetings are and what they typically cover. I would love to attend the meeting but will be at adtech NY Nov 3 - 5.
Please keep posting.
Thanks,
Ben Paynter

So when are we meeting or did that happen already?
No, this didn't happen. We
No, this didn't happen. We had a lousy voter turnout (6 votes), so we had no real winner on the best date. Maybe this needs to be discussed through a wiki page rather than a poll...
How about...
We know that certain people can't make particular days - so Tuesday and Thursday are out. Don't know about any others. Apart from that, a date and a location should be set, and fixed at least two weeks in advance. Voting is fine, but it has to stop at one point and a decision made. Not everybody will be happy, but we'll all know when/where it is.
Possibly even select a regular time and location/s - say, third Wednesday every other month, and rotate between North, Middle and South of the region.
Just a thought. But it's like a wedding; you'll never get everybody to agree on the day, but as long as the important people are there, it'll happen..

Pete.

I completely agree. And the "important people" for a meeting like this are really just the one or two people willing to step forward and plan it. The only VIPs at these meetings are the organizers who find us a time and place to meet.
The call is out. Step up, someone, and be the VIP! ;-)
