ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a front end drupal developer to join our interactive production team on a long term consulting/freelance basis. This position will report to the VP of Technology and will work with our engineering and design teams to create highly creative and award winning web sites. Looking for candidates with the ability to create standards-compliant code that tightly adheres to original design specifications. The ideal candidate would be local to New York City but telecommuting is perfectly acceptable for the right candidate.

ABOUT US
Sudden Industries is a stable web development company based in downtown Manhattan with a specialization in music, television, non-profit, performing arts and consumer products sectors. We work on exciting media projects and our clients include: Viacom (MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon), Alvin Ailey, IFC, among many others. We have been in the industry for over 12 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with a team of programmers and designers to create dynamic, design-driven websites, video portals, game portals, rich media and other interactive products.
• Create standards compliant XHTML from Photoshop and Illustrator templates
• Develop standards-compliant code that holds up cross-platform and cross-browser
• Understand and adhere to CSS driven development standards.
• Conduct thorough QC on applications before releasing to management for review.
• Able to work both independently to meet aggressive deadlines, and collaboratively in a team-based production environment.

SKILLS
• 5+ years of production HTML/CSS experience
• Expert knowledge of CSS development, and cross browser issues
• Expert knowledge of drupal theming: pages, nodes, profiles, views, panels, navigation, theme functions & overrides, Ubercart is a +
• JQuery, AJAX, PHP knowledge are highly beneficial
• SVN knowledge is required (Checking Out, Updating, Committing)
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

In addition, the ideal candidate will be:
• Able to interface with Graphic Designers for detailed design specifications
• Able to interface with Engineers for back-end logic / content integration
• Able to quickly shift priorities and manage multiple priorities.
