Welcome to the Philippine Drupal Users Group!
DrupalCon Asia-Pacific Organizers Invite You to Participate
We are excited to announce the DrupalCon Asia-Pacific Organisers group. DCAPO intends to lay foundations that will facilitate international Drupal Conferences (DrupalCons) in the Asia-Pacific region.
DCAPO welcomes and needs input and assistance from Drupal users and communities throughout the Asia-Pacific region. DrupalCons are a lot of work, and are only possible through the community's effort. Please join the DCAPO group to share your opinions and experience, volunteer your time, or nominate yourself or others for roles on the selection team.
DCAPO will later announce a call to the community to suggest and research locations for the first Asia-Pacific DrupalCon. Note that a lot of work goes into researching locations. The DCAPO selection team will only be able to seriously consider locations with suitable venues, dates and event management companies, financial estimates, potential audience and motivated local teams.
But first, as much of the Asia-Pacific Drupal community as possible needs to get involved. You can help by translating and reposting this announcement on other websites where Asia-Pacific Drupal users and communities are likely to find it. Don't forget to note any translations and reposts in the DCAPO group so that we can track progress and share translations with each other.

Local motifs?
I noticed that a lot of cms and forum boards can easily be "themed" or change motifs. Has anyone done this for drupal? Maybe a simple token icon on the upper left and a background color changer. One for each local holidays like Christmas motif, Ninoy Aquino day, Independence day motif, etc. Just to add a little more pizzazz every now and then on my dull stock garland themed site ... 8-)
NullPointer.ph - Knowledge Exchange Platform for the Filipino Developer Community
Hi guys,
Sorry to cross-post. I thought this will still be relevant for all Filipino developer communities.
A couple of friends and I started a site NullPointer.ph. It is a knowledge exchange platform created to foster the growth of Filipino Developer community. For those of you who are familiar with StackOverflow.com, you will notice that everything is almost the same - it is a Question and Answer site with a reputation system. In fact, NullPointer.ph is running on a similar code base as that of Stack Overflow.
Drupal developer for online education site | American English Skills development Center
I am developing an online education website and I need somebody in the Metro Manila (Makati) area who is very good with Drupal. I have the general layout mapped out, but Drupal is smarter than I am.
This site will incorporate audio and video presentations, online writing assignments, and assessment tests. I also need to manage workflow, so that a student only progresses to the next lesson if he achieves a satisfactory score on the current lesson.

Filipino translation server to l.d.o
First, I would like to thank everybody for helping and contributing to our translation server at http://pili.pin.as/translations I took the initiative to ask for the filipino server be moved to the new localization server at localize.drupal.org. Hoping that we can migrate soon and we hope that residing at http://localize.drupal.org will lead to a 100% translation of Drupal 6 and eventually Drupal 7. Thanks again, mga kababayan!
drupal core code really "ugly?"
While searching for how to integrate drupal with a "light" webserver called Hiawatha, I find this comment intriguing:
http://www.hiawatha-webserver.org/forum/topic/222
In one of the comments, Hugo Leisink says that he doesn't recommend drupal because of the "ugly" code.
He says "On a simple page that showed a list of 15 items, Drupal needed more that 400 database queries."
I know drupal does these queries so it can do logging and for other status information, but I think you can disable these logging features.
Drupal Programmer | V9 Design

We are looking for an experienced Drupal programmer to review the work that has been done and finish the project. It will require creation of some custom modules, and customization of existing modules.

Backing up drupal database
Question lang po sa mga webmasters,
What is your prefered way to backup your site's Drupal database? I started out with HeidiSQL but it became unstable exporting the database over 5MB large. I then switched over to using Phpmyadmin however noticed a restriction on the import stating max 10,240Kib (im assuming that means approx 10MB?). My backup is now over 9MB and approaching the 10MB mark. Will this pose a problem? If yes, what do people use to backup their drupal database?
What is your preferred date for the Drupal Training Workshop @ Sofitel?
