Zen subthemes and Full themes BLock Issues

Hi there, I have been scouring the support forums for something about Zen block settings for subthemes in a multi-theme environment but nothing yet.

Can anyone here verify that you can run Zen and Zen-fixed and configure block differently for each of the themes?

I have created an interesting environment an an attempt to share some assets between the subthemes I have made. Sort of like Zen sub theme families.

Each one is a top level theme, with their own template.php file and a "last to load" css file, but they also share a couple of important files...like...each family of "subthemes" shares a page.tpl.php file, and also the main style.css of the default theme for the whole site.

Everything works fine, except for the fact that my blocks seem to have a mind of their own. Ic an't get the settings to update at ALL on my top level subthemes, and I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas about it.
