Bootstrap 3.0 & Drupal 7

Matt will be presenting some recent work from Ciplex using Bootstrap 3.0 with Drupal 7 and how it helped streamline the development process with a mobile first, adaptive layout monster of a site. He will share his experience with the implementation and will field questions about the process.

About our speaker

Matthew Giacomazzo (Matt Giacomazzo on Drupal.org) is a Front-End Developer at Ciplex who recently helped his team make the transition to Bootstrap 3.0 with Drupal. A ten year veteran with electronic multimedia, Matt's expertise also spilled over into web architecture, UX, design implementation, process development and more. He is constantly parsing the web to keep Ciplex and himself in the know in a sea of constantly evolving best practices, techniques and resources.

Matt grew up in the frozen northeast area of the country, better known as Maine. He received his B.S. in Electronic Multimedia, Arts & Communications at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Matt has also been known to dabble in other areas including music composition, audio engineering, video editing, graphic design and experimental game design. He also enjoys all kinds of geek culture, transformational festivals and recently becoming a dad.

Sass integration?

fejn's picture

Hi,

I learned a lot from your presentation at Ciplex. Are you using Sass with Bootstrap-3.0, or are you using Less? If you have a process for integrating Sass with Bootstrap, I'd like to know about it. I've managed to get a Bootstrap-based subtheme integrated with one of my sites, & am currently researching how to use it with Sass.

Thx, Jeff

We use LESS which is what

Soundvessel's picture

We use LESS which is what Bootstrap is built in and what we used with Omega 2.x previously with our Drupal team. There is a SASS port https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap-sass but that port has not made it into the Drupal Bootstrap theme project as of yet https://drupal.org/project/bootstrap

Presentation Notes

Soundvessel's picture

So Drupal Groups keeps blocking my notes as spam so I put them in a Google Doc accessible by anybody with the link.

Let me know if there is anything I missed!
