Drupal Meetup Ottawa - DrupalYOW
The very backbone of Drupal is of course, community. Here in Ottawa we have a thriving community of developers and it’s about time we start to foster that sense of community Drupal was founded on.
OPIN is hosting the 8th Ottawa Drupal Meetup on November 12th with support from the Ottawa Drupal Association and Acquia. Whether you’re Dries Buyteart himself or just a part-time dabbler in the Drupal world, all are welcome. We intend to have a beer, share some knowledge, make friends, and by the end of the event hopefully learn something new.
This Meetup we have Farhad Khan, Founder of Grype, and he'll be discussing a program call Consultancy Scrum. Consultancy Scrum is the application of agile methodologies to consulting projects. Scrum was developed for building products, but consulting projects are different. Your primary goal is not to deliver great software but to meet the client's needs within the project's constraints. In this talk, Farhad will share his experience with Agile in multinational corporations and lessons learned in implementing Consultancy Scrum in the distributed team at Grype.

It's probably not the 8th
As I've been attending these for years, it would be more fair to say, "The Ottawa Drupal Meetup is being hosted by OPIN for the 8th time". ;)
Although I'm more often in Toronto these days, I'll swing by if I'm in town at the time.

That should be decided within the next day or two. With the coming holiday season, lots of deliverables on everyones plates, and the fact that no one has shown interest in presenting yet this month, we may just go ahead and start again in the new year!
