Using comments can be very useful for collaboration. However, additional functionality is still needed for my intended purposes.
Is it possible to include different comment types within a single comment thread?
Within a single comment thread, different comment types will be marked with Icon Images preceding each comment so they will be easily recognized by the users.
Examples:
Image Icon | Image Comment
File Icon | File Comment
Text Icon | Text Comment
Within a typical comment thread now, when a user creates a new top level comment, or clicks the Reply link at the bottom of any comment, a text box appears so they can enter a reply. But with a comment thread that uses different comment types, a user will first see a panel containing the various Comment Type Icons.
Click on one of the icons to open a specific comment type reply box, where only a reply with that particular comment type is allowed. For example, if a user clicks on the Image Icon, they can only reply by uploading an image.
