Presentation by Charles Leverington, Senior Developer / Analyst - Drupal, University of Texas at Austin, Moody College of Communications - Technology Services.

New and long-term Drupalers are told from day one that "Drupal uses Git for our Version Control".

What is Version Control?
Where does Drupal use Git?
Have I already used Git and not known it?
All the 'Gurus' do everything in the Command Prompt. Can I skip that part?

This presentation will introduce Git, Git's relationship to Drupal, a few key terms, options for using the Command Prompt, skipping the Command Prompt, or (in a best case scenario) how and where to use both for maximum versioning. Then we'll dive into a walkthrough of https://try.github.io/. Finally, for real-world scenarios, we will also touch briefly on using Git with Acquia Cloud before moving on to an integration of Local Development, GitHub, and Pantheon.
