Hello,

I am the founder of Debug Academy; my team and I have taught and refined career-changing Drupal 7 & 8 development courses at Debug Academy ( https://debugacademy.com ) - and the course is better than ever! I will be the lead teacher for the upcoming semester, where we will teach Drupal 8. The course will be offered approximately 50% in-person at a metro-accessible location in Tysons Corner, VA, and 50% online. Can't make it in-person? You can attend all classes live & remotely as well!

A key differentiator of ours is that we do not re-use project materials across semesters; a designer is hired for every semester's project. This semester we will be creating and contributing a brand new Drupal 8 theme to Drupal.org, kicking off graduates' careers as contributors to Drupal and giving back to the community simultaneously! Many graduates contribute patches to various modules during the semester as well!

The class is part time (twice a week - 1 weekday evening online, 1 weekend morning in-person) and spans 3 months. The scheduled start date is January 21st, 2018. Apply at our student-built website https://DebugAcademy.com/apply - the clear path to a new career.

As a direct result of taking our class, our graduates have received (and accepted) job offers from well known development companies such as Acquia, Taoti, Balance Interactive, BeaconFire Red, Mobomo, Booz Allen, Pioneering Evolution and more. Furthermore, each of those companies has given job offers to students who had no development experience prior to enrolling in the class.

By taking this class and dedicating the appropriate amount of time to learning its material, you will be in great shape for moving to the next phase of your career. The majority of our students are referred by previous graduates, which we are very proud of.

Additionally - we boast a stellar student to teacher ratio, ensuring that the class remains accessible to individuals of any level of experience. There will be a teacher and at least one TA available during every class, and myself and our alumni are also available in the class chatroom at all hours. With our small class sizes and personalized curriculum, there is no better way to change or further your career.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them. I will be teaching the upcoming semester and will be happy to personally answer any questions. I can be reached via e-mail: ashraf.abed@debugacademy.com or phone: (571) 215-0563.

You can hear from a few of our previous graduates in previous posts and videos:

Our career-changing part-time

ashrafabed's picture

Our career-changing part-time Drupal 8 development course begins in exactly 3 weeks.

Here's a message I just received from one of last semester's students, who previously had no web development experience & had been doing part-time data entry. He's kicking off the new year with a new career as a D8 developer: "I got a call today from PE. I’ll be starting work Tuesday next week." His tuition will be fully made back from his new salary shortly after starting the new job.

If you're curious if the course would be a good fit for your goals, give me (the instructor) a call: 571-215-0563 , or send me an e-mail: ashraf.abed@debugacademy.com . We plan to close enrollment as soon as the seats are filled, so the sooner you reach out, the better. ( https://debugacademy.com/apply )

For the next week we're allowing people to enroll in the course at a 10% discount paid over 6 months, with no interest charged. If you need more flexibility, get on the phone with us and we will create a payment plan that works for you; we always strive to make our class as accessible as possible.

More quotes from alumni:

  • "By the end of the class I had worked on multiple Drupal sites and landed an interview with Acquia, who ended up hiring me as a Drupal Developer. Highly recommend it."
  • "I finished the class and kept practicing and before I knew it, I landed a new job! I've been working as a Drupal Developer for about 6 months now."
  • "Taking the class ended up being one of my best career decisions. Prior to the course, I had no knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, Git, or Drupal. Now, I am a Drupal Developer."
  • "I would say that even from the first week of class it was clear that he [Ashraf] has an incredible amount of knowledge on the subject he's teaching. I appreciated the fact that he taught at a level that someone completely new to coding could understand. Also, even outside of class he was incredibly helpful and always open to messages. Overall, I feel he loves what he does, and he lives up to his title."
  • "Ashraf, is a great instructor, very prepared and professional. The material and information he provided for this course were very helpful and I would always use it as very great source if I need any help. Ashraf has been very helpful and responds to any questions that I need have on slack almost immediately which always helps if I am stuck on something."
  • "My favorite aspect of the course was the amount of help that was available to the students in the course. Mid-lecture, presentation, task, or assignment, neither Ali or Ashraf would shirk from answer the most basic of questions."
  • "I would give Ashraf & Ali a solid 10/10. I believe they accomplished precisely what the set out to do at the beginning of the course. They stressed time and again the amount of work needed to be put into this course & provided enough assistance with every level of tasks and assignments for me to confidently state that any shortcomings a student has with regard to Drupal after taking this course comes from a failure to adhere to the direction given in the course."
  • "Ashraf sharing and demonstrating his thought processes for various tasks was my favorite part of the class. That was really helpful and beautifully showcased the lessons and assignments in real life form. I'm very likely to recommend a friend!"
  • "The teachers are great. They make the material easier to understand by using real life examples and analogies. The class was great. I'd recommend this class to friends."
  • "You guys were great. I especially appreciate the encouragement as the semester wore on and the continued guidance on how to catch up and get comfortable with certain skills."

Happy new year, everyone!
