Come and join us for our June Drupal Show and Tell! This is a great opportunity to learn from the interesting talks as well as a chance to mingle and meet new people within the Drupal world.

This month we are meeting at Dennis, 31-32 Alfred Place, London, WC1E 7DP.

Chris Kinch (Head of Front End Development - Dennis Publishing)
Going headless without the pain: Drupal 8, GraphQL, React & Apollo

The use of Drupal in a decoupled way has been in the wild for a while now however many, including myself, still find it daunting to make the leap into the unknown. This talk is focused around how Drupal 8 and GraphQL solve many of the problems with going headless and against my better judgement, this aims to be a live build demo. I’ll be showcasing just how easy it can be to get started, what you get with GraphQL out of the box and React with it’s Apollo Client integration for the front end.

Marcelo Vani (Software Engineer - Dennis Publishing)
Extending Behat content creation to make tests easier to read and maintain

Testing websites using Behat can be a life saver, but writing and maintaining the tests can be very time consuming. Creating content by filling in and submitting forms does the job, but it’s not very productive. If you are constantly amending broken test that use editorial content, you are doing it wrong :)

Wojtek Bojdoł (DevOps)
Case Study - Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Puppet

Back in March 2018 we completed a 6 month project to transition to Infrastructure as Code (IAC). In this presentation we will talk about how Terraform works, the benefits such as versioned and validated infrastructure and the challenges around our approach to IAC transition, using Terraform to provision and manage configuration for our AWS infrastructure.

All the talks are recorded and published a few weeks after the event on the event’s website, which you can find here. We’re looking forward to re-launching the website soon too with new content: http://www.drupalshowandtell.com/

Looking forward to seeing you there!
