I've used them all
I've used them all (well, at least the ones listed in the poll). What's the story behind this poll? Some guidance would be helpful when voting.
I used a lot for my SoC
I used a lot for my SoC project. I actually did a case study on it.
You can read the case study here:

Used a couple ...
I've used a couple but not to a degree I consider myself proficient. I've used MS Project and FastTrack Schedule.

What about some of the other projects like Basecamp or ProjectPier.org? I'd be curious if anyone knows how to configure drupal to work like one of these applications.

ProjectPier.org is running Drupal
Thanks for pointing to ProjectPier. It looks like
http://projectpier.org(site is 403) is a Drupal site. They've modified Amadou (one of my favorite themes) to their needs.I'll follow this with interest. Since ProjectPier (the fork of ActiveCollab) is written in PHP, there's a great opportunity for integration with Drupal.
Umm, who edited my post? The
Umm, who edited my post? I don't remember striking anything out.
The URL http://projectpier.org/ does work.
Some free some commercial
Commercial:
- Ace - interface is horrible if you just want to get "something done," very involved. Web-based service, can track time.
- MS Project - I've only touched MS Project and was turned off pretty fast. Software (windows)
- BaseCamp - nice, clean, easy, some may say too easy. Web service.
- Project Insight - this is what our firm uses now, it's a hosted service (.Net), so it's not perfect on Mac but getting better and the dev team takes feedback very well. Can be quite involving setting up projects. Not good for bug/issue tracking (dev), but good for overall tasks. Can track time.
Free:
- dotProject - I liked it since it had promise. This firm needs a decent donation and a designer to get them to the next level. Web software.
OpenWorkbench
In a major project I've done my planning of the entire project, using OpenWorkbench (http://openworkbench.org/).
It lacks some functionality, but in all it's a decent peace of software.
It tries to be a MS Project killer, but it's not quite there yet.
PM Software
I'm currently using QuickBase at work and think it's great (you can customize it) - here's a list I put together of various PM's tools I've reviewed
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=puDAkq4iYr842yVKrwGZEMg
The Drupal PM tool is more about code release then PM...something like SmartSheet for Drupal would be GREAT! The PM tool should contain:
Project info (name, goals, etc)
Tasks
Risk Mgmt
Change Mgmt
Deliverables
Issues
Team Members
Not sure if native Drupal is the place or an app via CakePHP since there's a lot of relational connections, etc.
TiddlyWiki
I use TiddlyWiki for project management.
my own GTD manager inspired by http://monkeygtd.tiddlyspot.com/
Most powerful advanded customisable lightweight project planner/manager/documenter ... far away from the others.
I have been searching for years for such a great tool.
I Also use a Tiddlywiki
I now use the latest version of MonkeyGTD 3.0 with some plugins. It is extremely powerful, but also can be slowed down when have your browser open for a while since it is one flat file. It also needs to be uploaded to tiddlyspot to be saved. I often download it and work on it for a while and then upload. Collaborating with one other person on it and it is working well, but honestly it is much better as a solution for a single developer.
OpenProj
The one I have been using lately is OpenProj. Very nice MS Project clone. Very similar to GanttProject. It is written in java as well.
...And a little looking out for the other guy too. -- Mr. Smith
dotproject
have used dot project and will be installing it again when i get my new site up and running, would love it to be intergrated with drupal somehow, even if it was just for the log ins as its a bit of a pain in the arse getting members who are already on the site having to have different logins. In the past had to get others to install for me, but this time round know what I am doing so that would make it easier.
Otros - Eventum
Hasta ahora venia usando el eventum (mysql) , pero estoy en vias de cambiar por una solución con drupal.
What about Microsoft Office
What about Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 ?
how to build such system on drupal?
Taskjuggler
I'am using Taskjuggler, that can do things for me that other programs can't.
Project* is the way to go!
At ZivTech we've been using Unfuddle.com so far. However, it just doesn't make sense to use a non-Drupal solution for a variety reasons:
On this last front we will be investing some time over the next few weeks to push Project* towards a more general project management solution. Our first task will be giving admins more control over what constitutes a project, specifically what types of issues a user can submit (i.e. a regular should have more options than Bug Report, Support Requests, & Feature Requests).
Anyway, I hope we can all try and give back a little to Project* as we try to figure out the best project management system. What is it that would make Project* a better solution than the rest? What is holding you back from using it?

Mine is dotproject and I think the question is pretty clear (just trying to help christefano). I'd really like to read about the other applications if any of you used them.

Project Manager for moving www.bible.org to Drupal while working on making trustworthy Bible study material available to the world

We use redmine @
We use redmine @ openlyconnected and really like it. Its written in Ruby, which isnt ideal, but it works great, and clients seem to like its simple interface.
Unfuddle.com and active
Unfuddle.com and active collab (beta version)
Dozends of different solutions, all with pros and cons but for me it comes down to this: We are working with Drupal every day - we know we could build exactly the system we want in Drupal so it only makes sense to use one system than to learn another again. Well and as probably everyone else we haven't had time yet - but it is on the todo list ;)
