How about listing some website or projects--built of Drupal--that are related to travel and tourism? Let's see what kind of cool sites the Drupal community is turning out that are related to travel!
Comments
Matador Travel
MatadorTravel.com is a travel social networking / community website with articles, blogs, destination experts, overseas work, travel writing opportunities and user profiles and the site is based on Drupal.
I am not sure who is behind the site, but it's a nice, solid travel community site.

Travel Guide.com
Travel Photographer.com
But it's built on wordpress

Travel Notebook
TravelNotebook.com is a community travel website that allows travelers to share their knowledge and photos, track their travel and connect with other travelers. Another solid Web 2.0 site based on Drupal.

New Social Network for Tourism Professionals
I have recently launched Tourism Professionals Network
This is an experiment in creating social networks for like minded groups of professionals, in this case, in destination marketing, event planning. I have identified a number of other groups as well.
Really a study in how to create a social network and hold it together. I have learned two things so far.
1. It is critical to get the word out to the target audience. Identifying and contacting this group is not easy.
2. Getting potential users to visit and try the site is also difficult. Even if they do happen to drop by, creating content that is sticky and will cause them to return is also necessary to building the critical mass that defines a real community.
Please drop by - your feed back appreciated.
Tourism Squamish
Last summer we developed TourismSquamish.com which has been growing steadily since launch. We have learned a great deal about Drupal since then and are looking forward to our spring/summer overhaul of the site.
We'll have another (much larger) Destination Marketing Organization site launching a month from now and will be sure to share our insight with the group.
Telluride Tourism Board
We just launched a new drupal tourism site this weekend that we're pretty proud of... VisitTelluride.com
Please send in any feedback and or ideas for further improvement.
Hi Jamieventure
your site is awesome, I liked it. Did you build it on Durpal5 or 6?
Regards,
Judef
drupal 6
thanks, ya was a good project for sure. Mostly the work of Baronmunchowsen (also following this thread). Drupal 6 for sure. I'll let Baronmunchowsen (Olly) pipe in with any details if desired, or perhaps he'll do a write up for the drupal project showcase.
What module did you use for Seach by date widget?
Hi jamieventure,
what module did you use for search by date widget, i liked it in particular. Can you describle how to do that?
Regards,
judef
Date module and jQuery UI Tabs module
Hi Judef.
The date picker popup is provided by the date popup module which is bundled with the date module (http://drupal.org/project/date)
The tabs are created using that jQuery UI tabs module (http://drupal.org/project/tabs)
The forms (search by date, search by type) are created using the form API (http://api.drupal.org/api/file/developer/topics/forms_api.html/6) in custom modules.
Thanks.
Olympic Peninsula Tourism
Just completed work on a new tourism site in Drupal 6:
Olympic Peninsula Tourism Commission : http://www.olympicpeninsula.org
Quick write-up: http://drupal.org/node/553978
Love to hear feedback!
Mauritius island (Ile Maurice)
Here is my site : http://www.ilemaurice-guide.com
Directories and informations about hotels, rentals and entertainment in Mauritius island.
When finished it will be exposed in showcase to explain all modules used.
Geek.Travel (Drupal 7)
This is a new website focused on destinations of interest for geeks. I am in the process of learning D7, adding functionality, and will later focus on adding conventions, events, and places that are of interest to geeks that enjoy technology, games, and cosplay. The site is live while I implement it, so feel free to give any criticism or feedback. Thanks.

Drupal: 7.0-Beta3
Modules: Too many to list, but the following are some of them... Domain Access, Path Redirect, Pathauto, Views, Backup and Migrate (saved me twice so far when I destroyed my install when I made a dumb mistake or database got corrupt because of a module I installed...Global Redirect module was the cause... disabling the module in "system" table did not work, deleting the folder under /modules did not work...only database restore worked which luckily I have set to backup once per hour!),
Future Modules: There are many modules that I want to use that are not yet ported to D7 or that don't work correctly/fully in D7 (such as Location module). Sometimes I think I made a mistake of attempting to develop a site with D7 instead of the established D6. But I think I will stick with it and suffer through the rough period of being an early adopter.
Jerusalem Portal in Drupal...
Jerusalem Tourism Portal - www.allaboutjerusalem.com
Thousands of Photos, Videos, Articles, Guides, Tours & Anecdotes about Jerusalem
Big site capacity limit
Silly question.
I have a massive site (Accommodation.com to rebuild and I am looking around for some decent SEO dashboard + back end CMS to support the build
What are the usual limits of Drupal?
Cheers,
Freddy
