Rich Media firm accepting Drupal interns - Los Angeles | Almer/Blank
Almer/Blank is an interactive media agency, specializing in high end Flex & Flash video application development looking for any students/interns who currently have working knowledge of Drupal and would like to learn how to integrate it with RIA’s.
We create amazing, award-winning work for clients including E! TV, Clear Channel, Apple, and Mattel. We work out of an awesome, bright, open warehouse, just off Abbot Kinney in Venice, complete with a 50-seat digital technology theater and a bar. When you work at Almer/Blank, you’ll get exposure to the highest-level of interactive application development practices, and have great extra learning opportunities, like our Intern Romps, user group meetings, and sitting in other special training sessions or courses at the Rich Media Institute.
To date, we have hired more than 50% of the students that have interned for us.
Other areas we could use talent:
Design- we are just now building out a design arm of our operations, and there would be no end of solid portfolio-generating work for a good, motivated design student.
Video Production & Editing – The Almer/Blank warehouse hosts a wide variety of events, talks and training, which we record, edit and produce for web distribution. Get experience working on great video content that is watched by thousands around the world.
General Business/Office Maintenance/Management - any students interested in learning all the dirty ins-and-outs of entrepreneurship and small business management will have a chance for good amounts of exposure on a regular basis.
Marketing -- for any students interested, we are also building out our marketing operation for the Rich Media Institute offerings.
3D - for any student with experience working 3D. This position will pertain to using 3D in interactive applications.
Technologies and methodologies include, but never limited to: Flex, Adobe AIR, Flash, ActionScript (AS), JavaScript (JS, Ajax, DHTML), PHP, XHTML, CSS, XML/XSL/XSLT, SQL, .Net, Java, CFML, PDF interactivity, JSFL, UML, Microformats, Web Standards, Web Accessibility (Section-508, WAI), Flash Lite, WAP/WML, and other really dope technologies.
