Title: Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator
Location: Lakewood, CO (Denver Federal Center)
Team: NI-130 – Unix/Database support team (Task Order 4)

Responsibilities:
The hired contractor will have the following specific responsibilities:
· Assist with the everyday work of installing and maintaining SuSe Linux servers
· Skilled in the installation, configuration and administration of Linux (preferably Novell SuSe Linux Enterprise Servers and Desktops)
· Skilled in the installation and configuration of Web related applications - Apache, PHP and MySQL
· Work with the Lead Linux SA in the administration of Security - SSH, SSL, IPtables, TCP Wrappers, Tripwire
· Be familiar with Networking - TCP/IP, NFS, FTP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, ifconfig, route, netstat, xinetd, HTTP, NIS/YP
· Be able to write Scripts using : sh, bash, ksh, csh, Perl, Python, sed, awk
· First line support for Lead Linux SA, handling tickets, ftp issues, user logins/passwords
· Knowledge of Storage Area Networks
· Knowledge of Remedy System
Contractor Requirements:
The contractor must have:
· A minimum 3 years general Linux administration experience.
· A minimum 2 years of Apache and Web installation and configuration.
· Experience writing technical documentation
Environment: The hired contractor will work within the NI-130 Unix/Database support team. The Unix/Database team has a wide range of responsibilities and skills. The team supports several varieties of Unix and hardware. Primarily, Linux on intel based hosts, AIX on IBM hosts machines and Solaris on Sun hosts. Significant software and application responsibilities of the team include supporting Informix database servers, ESRI SDE application servers and Veritas Netbackup servers.
