This page is intended to help folks facilitating our user group. The facilitator shifts every month, and below are the list of their responsibilities and some helpful guidelines. If it's your job this month, the most important part is to enjoy yourself and keep things moving. Also, this is a wiki page, so feel free to add to or adjust this document.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Sending out an e-mail broadcast via http://groups.drupal.org/node/5383/broadcast about a week before the meeting with details, following roughly the format below.
- Starting and welcoming people to the meeting, facilitating introductions and keep things moving through whatever we need to cover. This likely includes introducing the speaker.
- Ending the meeting roughly on time
- Assigning this role to someone else for the next month's meeting - ideally during the meeting - and sending them a link to this page.
- Facilitating the choice of a topic for next month's presentation or discussion - ideally during the actual meeting.
E-mail broadcast
Below is a template for the e-mail broadcast to be sent out about a week before the meetup. After writing the broadcast, e-mail it to chrisshattuck, jbrauer or mlsamuelson and they'll send it out.
