We had the poll a couple of weeks ago. When do we think is good? Also, any thoughts on the next DrupalCamp NYC?
(unfortunately tuesday's I can't do, but it looks like that is the overwhelming good day. I am fine for almost anyother day of the week.)

Shouldn't it be...
The 30th, right before Halloween?
I'll get my butt in gear
I apologize for not organizing the next meetup sooner. My 30th birthday was on October 13th so that weekend was shot. Then I had to move my websites to a new server, and this past weekend my parents were in town for birthday #2. I will get something together and post details shortly.
I am thinking that the 30th would be best, but maybe we should start mixing up the days of the week. It's a shame that you haven't been able to join us Sam.

It seems like there is a small number of us who aren't able to attend on Tuesdays. Perhaps we could alternate which day we have meetups or find some other way to include people? I realize that being group organizer can be difficult and that this isn't necessarily a solvable problem.

I am very much missing the Drupal Meetups, but I am in school and this semester I am taking classes Tues ,Wed & Thurs. I would welcome a different day but I never know what my schedule will look like from semester to semester, see you all when I can.

We can do November's Meetup on a different day.
We can do November's Meetup on a different day. Also, in between meetups we should share more knowledge online.
We don't want to go too overboard with message boards and work groups, because these are already supported by Groups.Drupal.org.
However, it would be nice to just have a place to post ideas, questions, activities, etc. so that we can all keep up with each other like I do with my friends in Google Chat. Facebook, Twitter, IRC are obviously other examples of what I'm talking about.
While it is easy for me to push out the latest meeting announcements, it is hard for me to get informal feedback from the group about what people are thinking and what they want to be doing.
For anyone that is interested, you can connect to me on Google Chat through my email address: adam AT MarketAnomaly.com. Please post your ideas on "socializing" the online aspect of the NYC group.
sounds good
I agree -- that all sounds good. I think trying to have one meeting per month, and trying to find one day on which everyone can attend, becomes monolithic and loses value. What seems best to me would be just to have meetings once or even twice a month on various days and everyone who can attend will come. (eg, say like first Tuesday and third Thursday of the month.)
Also, I've never been to one of these, but what is the format generally? I was thinking it might be nice if everyone collectively tried to help someone with a problem they've been working on? or if someone presents something they've recently figured out.
I try to make good use of IRC and message boards, but I find that my questions often get lost in the crowd. It seems to me that the real value of a group like this is that, although you're asking your questions to a much smaller group, your voice is heard much louder ... and that way everyone can learn.
Hope to meet everyone soon.
One of these days.. I hope to attend (my first) meet up. This month is bad for me.
