Purpose
The Drupal community currently has a web presence that is somewhat outdated in appearance, structure and in the presentation of content. An opportunity exists to re-engineer the site to better reflect the goals of the Drupal community and incorporate the more useful features. Upon completion of the development of the site, the Drupal community will assume full responsibility for web site content maintenance and administration. All content, coding and graphics will become the sole property of the Drupal community.

Description
We would like to update the Drupal.org website to better support the existing community of developers and make it easier for evaluators and beginners to learn why Drupal is important and how they can get started and become involved in the community. We must develop a friendly site that can deliver large amounts of constantly changing information to our key audiences.

The Drupal Association will maintain ultimate editorial control of content, but the site will be maintained by maintainers from the community. The website will use the Drupal web based content management software developed by the Drupal project and the Drupal community.

To be effective, our web site must be:
1. Fun and friendly community site
2. Easy to find answers to questions
3. A way to keep track of projects of interest
4. A showcase of what can be done with Drupal
5. A guide to help you learn Drupal at your own pace
6. A guide to help you build your site

Specific Strategies
Support devs: improved user interfaces for the components that most used by them (project module,) improved statistics and information
Help evaluators: Increase the professionalism of the brand, improve marketing and showcases
learn Drupal: I think it's pretty at this, but I would recommend a step by step tutorial
Add easy visibility into the key and active areas of the community
Make an easy to enter forum and documentation, that is well structured and inviting
Add pdfs brochures to help with marketing efforts
Make it easy to track projects of interest

In short we must tell our story through the use of compelling visuals, intuitive navigation, and concise messaging.

Make it compelling
Develop tools to deliver timely, relevant answers to the breadth and depth of member questions.

Make it happen
Reinforce the Drupal Association’s brand and market leadership and give the member incentive to take action.
