I'm looking for a way to provide the car dealers in our area a way to advertise their cars online ... without trying to build something myself in CCK (as I'm a graphic designer, not a programmer, coder, or developer). Any suggestions?

This exact concept is covered in chapter 7 about Ubercart in Drupal In Action.
You can get the "MEAP" early version as an e-book and then you also get the final e-book or print book.
Given that the original strategy for the book became somewhat outdated (we wanted to cover some modules that took too long to stabilize and at this point a book about Drupal 6 isn't commercially viable). So, we are updating and rewriting the book to cover Drupal 7.
Basically it's two books for free: buying it today you get the 75% complete MEAP E-book which covers lots of parts of Drupal 6 and then in a few months you'll get the Drupal 7 version of the book.

Book not published
I see on the Manning catalog that this book will not be published -- but I would like to tackle building an auto dealer solution with CCK (as I have a much better understanding of Drupal now than I did nine months ago). Is there any way I can get a look the chapter you mentioned?

Trying to avoid building it all myself!
Yeah, I was just trying to avoid having to build the entire thing from scratch, all by myself. I am the one and only member of our "web development team" on site at our newspaper; I get assistance now and then from a developer or two at the media company's flagship newspaper on the other side of the country ... but if this module has to be built from scratch, I'll probably end up doing all the work.
And since I know next to nothing about PHP, I'd have to do it without writing a single line of code.
I was just hoping to find some existing module that I could use as the foundation for this project. No such luck, huh?
