A Silicon Valley Web 2.0 startup is looking for entrepreneurial, seasoned software engineers – you must be a Drupal expert! We have a total of 5 openings right now. You will be based in Mumbai.

We are looking for a self-starter, who understands the nature of computing at a deep level. You must enjoy crafting good solutions to difficult problems, without reinventing the wheel. You know how to work Google to do quick research on the state-of-the-art or find solutions to sticky problems. You are a team player, who likes to share knowledge with junior team members in particular, and with the open source community at large.

You are entrepreneurial in the sense that you have started your own software company, or dream of starting one. We enjoy mentoring and incubating, and will even fund the right idea after a solid relationship is established. You recognize that employee stock options in a successful company provide a sure path to financial independence.

Our offices in Mumbai and elsewhere are state of the art. Compensation, benefits and perquisites are competitive. Your working hours will be regular India time. You will interface with other team members in California, who will modify their work hours to accommodate your schedule.

Skill Set Expected:

  • Senior members are expected to mentor other team members.
  • Understand the software development life cycle, including release management.
  • Experience building, managing, maintaining websites on the LAMP stack using Drupal.
  • Build an automated regression test harness.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, specifically XP or Scrum.
  • 4+ years of php; 1+ year of Drupal – must be familiar with all major modules, and tuning for optimal performance.
  • phpUnit, phpCake, Drake, Eclipse for php.
  • Competence in Database Design, MySQL/PhPMyAdmin, Tuning.
  • Competence in JavaScript, XHTML, AJAX, JSON, jQuery.
  • Web Services: experience with at least one of FaceBook API, Google Maps and Gadgets, or Widgets.
  • Understand how stock options in the company are a path to serious wealth creation.
  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or allied field; Master’s a plus.
