Position: PHP/Drupal Developer

Location: Oakland, CA

Summary Description:

The Ask Partner Network is the largest division of Ask.com, a 4th ranked search property and the 7th largest web property. Our division is one of the fastest growing businesses within IAC. As part of the toolbar team, you will be a significant contributor to this business.

We are looking for a highly motivated, hard-working, energetic and well-rounded Software Engineer with expertise in web technologies and CMS frameworks to join a growing team, building the next generation of SEO applications. The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic and focused on improving the user’s online experience through the development of new and exciting features.

Responsibilities:

• Over 4 years of hands-on experience building web applications.
• Experience in developing high performance, high volume websites using CMS systems like Drupal
• Should be an expert developing custom PHP modules on Drupal
• Knowledge of web site optimization and browser caching principles.
• Knowledge of database optimization techniques.
• Has knowledge of relational database design, and writing complex SQL queries
• Experienced writing Apache rewrite rules
• Should be able to design, develop and deliver products end-to-end.
• Experience in SEO development techniques and best practices a plus

Technical Skills:

• 4+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and testing in high-performing web applications
• PHP – 4 years
• Database design , preferably Oracle RDBMS and MySQL
• Skilled in writing SQL scripts and queries
• Hands-on experience working with open source CMS systems like Drupal, Joomla – 2 yrs
• Have in-depth and hands-on knowledge of Web 2.0 strategies. Including, but not limited to:
Experience designing and building UI components in JavaScript
Knowledge of HTML, CSS
• Expertise in cross browser development (IE, Firefox) and Web usability and interface design
• Excellent debugging, problem solving, and testing skills.
• Development experience in a Unix/Linux environment preferred.
• Must have knowledge and keen interest in emerging technologies in the online industry.

Required Experience

• 4+ yrs industry experience
