DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION COMMITTEE JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Deputy Director of Online Communications
REPORTS TO: Director of Online Communications
LOCATION: Denver

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Serves as principal deputy to the Director of Online Communications. The Deputy Director will serve as webmaster for the DemConvention.com, the official website for the Democratic National Convention Committee. The Deputy Director of Online Communications will serve as an on-site developer and execute online strategy.

Job requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, XHTML, PHP, CSS and RSS
  • Extensive knowledge of database systems MySQL
  • Knowledge of Drupal
  • Understand the functions of and have the ability to build applications for leading social networking sites
  • Ability to explain online technology to the non-technologically savvy individual
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Demonstrates solid organizational skills with close attention to detail

Job qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional/performance experience)
  • Proven experience at building and maintaining websites in different formats
  • Video editing skills a strong plus
