The purpose of our social networking module on the web site is to enable the teachers and students to form groups, post documents, lecture notes, photos, lecture videos, events, chat, interact, have discussions, update calendar and invite other participants to certain group activities. The social networking module shall also link to popular networking portals like Facebook, Flickr, Google Docs, You Tube, Twitter, etc.
Please use readily available off the shelf well proven open source Social networking modules to implement the project with the required functionality. Alternately, customize readily available social networking modules at ning.com, kickapps, socialgo.com, isocial.in, etc. However, all private branding needs to be removed from the interface.
In the first phase of implementation, we would like to quickly implement basic social networking features using readily available solutions, create a page on facebook and link to the facebook page. Later, we can add additional functionality in the second phase. I look forward to useful suggestions from you to quickly implement the project.
